Over The Last 100 Years We Have Sought To Be More Compassionate In America...

It was something I never really picked up on growing up. The subtle cultural increase in focusing on being compassionate with people.

  • Compassionate with gang members, because they grew up in bad places
  • Compassionate with violent people, because they grew up in dysfunctional families
  • Etc

In America we sought to be more compassionate over the last 100 years. And the result is the "experts" are the most disgusting people, all the while they think themselves to be the greatest people. Because of their abundance of compassion...

Yet when you step away from the TV, step away from the politician's podium, step away from the headlines, step away and look closely. You will see:

No one cares less for women who survive rape, than feminists

No one cares less for children with minds that struggle, than mental health activists

No one cares less for the poor struggling to buy food and find places to live, than economists

And while it's simple to continue to make that list longer and longer. Something stands out.

In our pursuit of "compassion" we have created entire populations of "people who could care less". Ironic isn't it.

The world is upside down, because we valued compassion. Valued compassion over people, over justice, over safety.
