You cannot undo the past, but...
If you read the word, The Lord does not expect you to undo your past mistakes
When you read the word you see The Lord is always concerned with your genuine heart. Not your mistakes. Not your bad decisions. Not your bad choices.
The Lord is concerned about whether or not you are penitent... are you sorry.
Now to be clear there is a huge differences between:
- Being sorry it went badly
- Being sorry about what you did
- Being sorry you got caught
- Being you sorry you disobeyed The Lord
Underneath it all. Are you sorry because you now recognized something?
And we all know we cannot go back and change the things that have already happened. What’s done is done. You cannot un-ring the bell.
But!
That isn’t actually bad news. Because The Lord can write a new story. A better story if you allow him.
Think about it. What if your story got even better?
Is that desirable to you? Would any of these be desirable to you?
- Healing
- Unity
- New beginnings
- Forgiveness
- Old things made new
- Improvement
- Cleanness
- Growth
- Freedom
Are those things worthwhile?
What’s stopping you from receiving those from The Lord?
I might just be allowing yourself to go into the bathroom, turn on the light, walk over to the sink and look yourself in the mirror and say
I F’d up, but now I am going to do something about it.
