Have you ever wondered if there's ways to quickly spot false teachers?

What if there are a few easy and quick things to look out for? Honestly I think everyone says over and over and over "don't listen to false teachers". But does anyone ever explain good ways on HOW to figure out which teachers are false teachers?

This is a failing of many speakers and pastors. They tell you how to live without telling you HOW to do it. But I digress... back to topic!

One way to spot a false teacher, is that they often times ignore the intent of the word of God.

There's a lot of talk about "taking things out of context" and all that. But not many people are talking about how people "teaching" The Word are avoiding the intent of the Word.

They ignore the heart of The Lord, while they say they are giving us The Word and Jesus.

Love, holy love is not a singular expression. Love can be embracing someone. Love can also be looking them in the eye and telling them "you're being foolish". Love can be telling someone to follow their ideas. Love can also be refusing to affirm someone's ideas and telling them their ideas are harmful.

If the motive behind someone's teaching is not love, holy love. Then it’s not what the word is saying. And often it's self serving. Which when you stop and think about how Satan deceived Eve in the garden... it was entirely self serving how Satan twisted The Word of God in such a way as to deceive Eve...

What is love, holy love?

Yes, holy love is to eradicate evil. But it’s not love to abuse his daughter, your wife.

Yes it’s love to discipline your child. But it’s not love to demand everyone act the same way as you.

And since the gender wars are alive and well online in the social media spaces I will circle back to the topic of wives. If your reading of The Word leads you to treat The Lord's daughter badly, you are a false teacher.

So whenever you hear someone teaching The Word. Ask yourself, is this message reflecting a Holy love? Or just a "feels good" or "affirming" love. Because both of those are abuse, not love.
